The Hougen 12232 is a 1 in diameter, 2 in depth-of-cut annular cutter from the 12,000-Series, designed for use with Hougen portable magnetic drills, stationary tools, and drill presses. Manufactured from hardened M2 high-speed steel and precision ground for long tool life, this cutter delivers clean, burr-free holes in materials up to 275 BHN (28.5 HRC) while requiring significantly less horsepower and thrust than conventional twist drills. The patented Hougen-Edge geometry, fully fluted body, and tapered inner diameter work together to improve chip evacuation, reduce friction, and ensure reliable slug ejection with every cut. With up to 10 cutting edges distributing the load evenly and a rigid 3/4 in double-flatted Weldon shank, the cutter offers outstanding hole finish and extended tool life. A pilot pin is included, and the cutter is resharpenable for a lower cost per hole over its service life.
