Product Details

Metacaulk 1000 is a one-component, general purpose fire-rated sealant and smoke seal engineered for construction joints and through-penetrations in demanding commercial and residential applications. The highly intumescent, non-sag caulking grade formula cures to a flexible elastomeric seal that performs reliably in areas subject to constant vibration and dynamic movement. Water-based and VOC compliant at just 10 g/L, it applies cleanly with a standard caulking gun to metal, insulated pipes, fiberglass, EMT, plastic pipes, fire-rated gypsum wallboard, and concrete assemblies. Systems are rated for 1, 2, 3, and 4-hour fire resistance in accordance with ASTM E 814, UL 1479, UL 2079, and CAN/ULC-S115 standards, delivering an STC rating of 62 for combined fire and acoustical performance.

  • Highly intumescent formula achieves 1, 2, 3, and 4-hour fire ratings per ASTM E 814, UL 1479, UL 2079, and CAN/ULC-S115 for a wide range of tested assemblies
  • Non-sag, paste-grade consistency applies easily with a standard caulking gun, bulk loading gun, or trowel with no mixing or dilution required
  • Water-based and VOC compliant at 10 g/L; paintable and suitable for all interior firestopping applications
  • Cures to a flexible elastomeric seal rated for areas with constant vibration and dynamic joint movement
  • Protected against mold growth in both wet and dry stages with a combination of biocides for long-term reliability
  • Approved for use on metal pipes, insulated pipes, fiberglass, EMT, plastic pipes, wallboard partitions, concrete block, and corrugated steel deck assemblies
  • STC rating of 62 delivers exceptional sound attenuation in addition to fire and smoke stopping performance
  • Minimum 3-year shelf life with excellent freeze-thaw stability for jobsite storage flexibility
