The Tempil Tempilstik is a precision temperature indicator stick rated at 250°F (121°C), purpose-built for welding preheat, interpass, and post-weld heat treating applications. The stick leaves a chalky, dull mark on the workpiece surface that instantly transitions to a see-through, glossy appearance the moment the rated temperature is reached, delivering immediate and unmistakable visual confirmation. Calibration-free and accurate to within +/-1% of the Fahrenheit rated temperature, it complies with preheat requirements of AWS D1.1, ASME Code Sec. I, III and VIII, and ANSI/ASME Code B31.1 and B31.3. Made in the USA and free of sulfur, lead, and halogen contaminants, each stick is imprinted with the part number, temperature, and lot code across its entire length for full traceability on critical jobs.
